We took a ride around the whole "Picket Post Mountain" today. It took us a while to find a trail but once we did OMG what a ride. Just beautiful.

Just incase you did not read the last blog here is where Picket Post is in AZ

Picket post is just before Superior AZ in Tonto National Forest. If you head east on Hwy 60 coming out of Apache Junction just before Superior you will see first a "Forest fire alert" sign the right lane will end and you will see the brown trail head sign for "Picket Post" turn right. You will then drive in until you come to the "T", at the "T" you turn left drive just up a little ways and you will see an area that even the biggest trailers can pull in and park on the left side.

This area is dry camping only. Bring everything you need no water on site.

This trail is 700 miles long so bring your GPS LOL

We cut up the hill to get to the base of Picket Post Mountain

We found a well marked trail with pink ribbon going up a draw around Picket Post

This trail was unbelievable all I can say is WoW!!

No shortage of water either

We crossed the creek many times

Our friends Ken and Verna from Alberta

More water and a little grass for the horses

WOW! again and again.....

We took the scenic trail along the base of the mountain back to camp

John and his horse Blue
