Red Canyon Trail head Utah

Red Canyon Utah

After leaving Arizona that we love so much we headed north to Utah and headed towards Bryce Canyon. On the way to Bryce we saw these unbelievable rock formations in Red Canyon. We found the trail head to Red Canyon just down past the info centre before the two Red rock tunnels on Hwy 12. We decided to camp there for the night and ride the Butch Cassidy trail in the morning. This trail head is set up more to trailer into not really a camping area but up the street off Hwy 12 on Forest Road 113 there is an Equestrian campground "Coyote Hollow Equestrian Camping".

What a beautiful morning
It was cold over night but the sun was out so we saddle up the horses and headed to the trail head

There are maps and info over by the pit toilet about the trail system. There are also many hitching rails for you horses.

Heading out on the Butch Cassidy Trail

Lots of rock formations

Got up to the view point looking over Red Canyon

Pretty nice view between your horses ears

We headed out about 2 1/2 hours on the Butch Cassidy trail then took the Rich trail home
