MORE RIDES WITH NEW AND OLD FRIENDS

Our Arizona friend Suzi came for the weekend to do a little trail riding. She brought her young gelding Jesse to pony out on the trail. Jesse is like a big dog loves to hang around people so he hung out with us at camp. 

Alan Gilman's friend from Idaho came for a visit and rode one of Alan's mules. This day we did the Bull dog canyon ride.  We drove up the street past the first water turn off there is a gravel pit parking lot on the right hand side about a mile past 1st water. You cross the street at the gravel pit and follow the hoof prints into Bull dog. There is a big trail system in the area. 

 I rode Peg's mule Rita. 

I love the views through the ears of a mule.

The next day we rode from camp. We headed to the hills behind Goldfield know at Bulld Dog or Goldfield mountain range. 

This is a mutated Barrel cactus. Pretty cool :)

This is such a nice colt and will make a lovely trail horse. Very willing.

Corrie's last day we took him to Hackberry Spring this is a lovely ride. We rode from the same gravel pit as we did when we rode Bull dog but did not cross the street. We took a right out the trails out of the back of the parking lot. Heading up past the 1st water parking lot and headed to the left of 1st water.

We headed back to camp early started out at 8am so Corrie could get his mid afternoon flight home. Also it is getting pretty hot in the mid day so riding early is good. 

MORE FRIENDS ARRIVE FROM BC, SO WE HAVE MORE TRAILS TO SHOW THEM

After last weeks rain it is nice to have the hot weather back. It is getting even hotter here in Apache Junction. We had planned a few weeks ago to head to Picket Post mountain but we keep having more people arrive and we can't help but show them around on the trails it is just so beautiful here.

Last weekend it was my son and his dad who arrived from Vancouver to see the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. This week a riding friend Elisabeth from Naramata BC arrived late sunday night following another friend Michael and Gloria down from BC. Michael has been here before but neither Gloria or Elisabeth have so it was time to take them out on the trail. 

I missed the first few rides as my stallion Hunter some how put his shoulder out. Had a great person work on him and he is on the mead but until then I have been riding "Miss Kitty" Alan's new Mule. 

My Savannah Cat Kenya loves to mess with Randy and Peg's dog Bandit. Bandit really wants to be friends.

We had a great night out at The Hitching Post. It is a fun place to ride or drive to for dinner, dancing and we even watched the Super Bowl there. Thursdays and Saturdays they have Bull riding too.

The next day we had planned on riding to Saguaro Lake but we had to back track because I some how lost my GPS. I will be lost with out it. :(

ARIZONA RAIN BUT FUN WITH FAMILY

Well believe it or not it does rain in Arizona but it doesn't happen very often. Busy week here in Arizona with the 2015 Super Bowl Feb 1st and the town is full of people from all over the world. 

My son was lucky enough to get tickets and was arriving with his Dad Steve on Friday evening from LA as it was way to expensive now to fly to Arizona just because of Super Bowl prices from Bellingham went from $180 round trip to $1800...

My son Skylar arrived friday evening and it of course was still raining. The next day was a little better. 

We took a drive in the rain to see what the sand draws we normally ride in looked like. 

When Steve and Skylar arrived they both took Ron and I out for dinner in Scottsdale to a really nice Mexican restaurant called Los Sombreros.

I took them up to Goldfield to see the town. 

I sure wish Skylar had more time to visit but both Steve and Skylar run a paving business (Called S&S Paving)  in Vancouver and only could take so many days to come to the Super Bowl.

After Skylar and Steve left for the day to do see some of the Super Bowl events we took a drive up the Apache Trail to Tortilla Flats and all the way to Roosevelt Lake.

We ate rib eye steaks cooked by Skylar as we watched a beautiful sunset... No more rain for a while...

The next day Steve and Skylar left early to get to the Super bowl and we all headed to the Hitching Rail to watch the game. Very good game but sorry for Seattle's loss :(
